Available spots
Description
Join me on Saturday, 17th May 2025, for an exclusive photography workshop at Lickey Hills Country Park, Birmingham. This immersive experience is designed for photographers of ALL LEVELS eager to capture unique western grit, high fashion, and of course - THE HORSE. Lickey Hills Country Park, Birmingham, UK (Full permit held for the event) 17th May 2025 10:00 AM – 3:00 PM (with a lunch break) MORNING SESSION (10AM - 12.00PM) “COWBOY COUTURE” “Cowboy Couture” - where the wild west meets high fashion runway. In this visually striking session, Ben Hudson redefines what it means to be a cowboy in the UK. He will be accompanied by his gorgeous Appaloosa horse, Comet. Wearing a custom black couture outfit encrusted with silver rhinestones, this setup marries gritty western tradition with glossy, badass runway editorial style. Ben is not only a seasoned western rider and founder of Ride Western UK, he’s also a powerful advocate and role model for the underrepresented Black British male rider community. Expect strong commanding poses, contrast, and the kind of visual energy that stares down the lens and dares it to look away. AFTERNOON SESSION (1.00PM - 3.00PM) “DUST AND BROTHERHOOD” “Dust And Brotherhood” - a raw, cinematic deep dive into modern masculinity and the spirit of the wild west. Featuring dynamic duo Ben Hudson and Ash Howells alongside the iconic Comet, this session captures something rare: the bond between man and horse, and between riders from very different worlds. Ash brings charisma, expression, and punchy character work with a background in acting, modelling, and equestrian comedy that’s taken TikTok by storm. His energy paired with Ben’s grounded western grit will create electric chemistry on camera. What’s In It For You? - Tailored group and 1-1 coaching with me - Master the art of composition and framing - Discover techniques and strategies for leveraging natural light - Opportunity to work with experienced professional equestrian models - Learn how to find and utilise effective shoot locations - Master posing and prompting techniques for horses and humans - Develop your unique photographic style - Build confidence when working with horses - Create high-quality images for your portfolio - Optional post-shoot review session with editing tips and portfolio selection help (over Zoom) *accommodation and lunch not included, but light refreshments will be provided*
